Abstract submission of effects 2024 open!

From 23-27 September 2024, the first iteration of effects 2024 - the european forum for engineering & catalysis towards sustainability - will take place in Karlsruhe, Germany. This interactive and interdisciplinary forum for early career professionals in catalysis and engineering will provide ample opportunity to discuss the topic 'Catalysis at the core of more efficient processes in the chemical industry'. It is jointly organized by the three organizations YEuCat, YounGeCatS and NaWuReT, as well as the SPP2080 and the CRC1441 initiative from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Start of Energy Pills talk series

YEuCat recently took part in the first Forum of Young Researchers in Heterogeneous Catalysis (YOURHETCAT) in Szeged, Hungary. This event, entirely focused on young catalysis researchers in their PhD or early PostDoc phase, provided an ideal platform for us to present the network and attract new members.

Great participation to the first YEuCat delegate assembly

The first YEuCat delegate assembly took place on February 26th. The four YEuCat working group could introduce their activities and share the experiences of the first year of YEuCat. Then the discussion took place in separated parallel sessions hosted by the four group, followed by a panel discussion to shape the future plans.

YEuCat Virtual Pubquiz

The first YEuCat virtual Pubquiz took place on 26 November, 2020. YEuCat members, colleagues and friends came together online to experience a fun quiz evening. In teams of three or four, the participants had to prove their knowledge of pop culture, science and random facts, as well as coming up with some appropriate guestimates. We congratulate the winning teams and say “thank you” to our quizmaster Thomas, who did an excellent job in composing the quizzes. Looking forward to a repetition in the near future!

YEuCat Poster Conference on Twitter on Wednesday, 1 July at 15:00 CEST
After the successful #CouchCatalysis poster conference on Twitter in April, we are organizing our second virtual Twitter poster conference on Wednesday, 1 July, starting from 15:00 CEST. This time, we will use #BeachCatalysis to kickoff the summer break with some beautiful catalysis research.

Next Catalysis Talks on biocatalysis with 2018 Nobel Laureate Frances Arnold
We feel very honored that 2018 Chemistry Nobel Laureate Frances Arnold will be part of the next edition of Catalysis Talks on biocatalysis to inspire young minds. The webinar will start on Wednesday, 10 June, 4 PM CEST. If you would like to join, fill in the registration form.

Webinar series on Collaborative Materials Research in cooperation with VSPARTICLE
As a response to the current COVID-19 measures, we accelerated our plans for a webinar seriers. In collaboration with the Material Pioneers from VSPARTICLE we will start a webinar series on uniting knowledge and efforts to accelerate material development.
The first webinar on "Collaborative Research in Material Science" will start on Tuesday, 14 April 2020, at 15:00 CEST

EFCATS Summer School 2020 on Engineering Materials for Catalysis in Slovenia
The 2020 EFCATS Summer School will be held from 15–19 September 2020 in the Grand Hotel Bernardin Convention Center in Portorož-Portorose, Slovenia. The event entitled "Engineering Materials for Catalysis" is organized jointly by the Section for Catalysis of the Slovenian Chemical Society and the Austrian Catalysis Society.
YEuCat will also contribute to the program. So mark the data in your calenders. All information on the summer school can be found on the official website (link). We are looking forward to meet you in Portorož-Portorose.
YEuCat continues to build bonds with EYCN
At the beginning of the new year, we were invited to the delegate assembly of the European Young Chemists' Network (EYCN) in Sitges, Spain, to share our experience with our kickoff during EuropaCat 2019 and our plans for the coming two years.
We are looking forward to foster and extend our good relationship with EYCN in the future.

We had a great kickoff at EuropaCat 2019! Around 150 young individuals joined our session on Tuesday afternoon and more than 20 volunteers joined the YEuCat team.

YEuCat officially kicks off its activities on Tuesday, 20. August 2019, with a special session at this year’s EuropaCat in Aachen, Germany.
